This is required for camping with girls in a setting other than a lodge and/or with fire-building. This blended learning course focuses on outdoor skills and cooking with fire. Participants will use at least one method of outdoor cookingto prepare a meal. All food items will be provided.
Verification of completion of this course is necessary prior to any planned camp date and at least one trained volunteer must be in attendance at any campout.
When registration closes, participants will be assigned the gsLearn portion of the training and sent a confirmation letter with instructions.
This is a 3-year certification and can be renewed via the gsLearn recertification course.
No in-person training is required for re-certifications.
A paper copy of the Camping Out manual is available for optional purchase for $8 when you register, but the manual can be viewed/downloaded for free from gsLearn or the GSofSI website at any time.
