Kick off the Girl Scouts Tree Promise initiative with us in an inspiring free virtual event! In collaboration with the Douglas-Hart Nature Center, this virtual kickoff event will prepare Girl Scouts to participate in our hands-on tree-planting efforts and empower them to make their Tree Promise this year. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to take the first step toward creating a brighter tomorrow-one tree at a time! Improving the community's tree canopy offers many benefits, from enhancing air quality and supporting wildlife to reducing urban heat and creating beautiful green spaces. This educational session will not only equip Girl Scouts, leaders, and families with the knowledge and motivation to plant and protect trees but also prepare them for our in-person tree planting event with the Douglas-Hart Nature Center on Mother's Day Weekend, Saturday, May 10th. During this interactive virtual event, participants will: Learn about the critical role trees play in combating climate change, supporting wildlife, and improving community well-being. Discover how the Girl Scouts Tree Promise aligns with global sustainability goals and how their efforts contribute to a greener, healthier future. Engage with an expert guest speaker who will share insights on the importance of native trees, planting techniques, and tree care. Explore fun and actionable ways to support tree-planting efforts within their local communities.
