2023 February Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Newsletter

• Enrolled in 7th-11th grade for the 2023-24 school year
• Registered as a Girl Scout at the time of application
• Interested in taking on a leadership role on the national level of Girl Scouts
• Able to communicate with their peers and with adults
• Able to work well independently and on a team
• Committed to using technology as a platform for research and communication

Girl Scouts Destinations are the ultimate adventure for individual Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scouts. Girls can make friends from all over the country while exploring new horizons on both domestic and international trips. Financial assistance is available as well! Some of the upcoming opportunities include studying sharks in Belize, seeing shows on Broadway in NYC, or touring the sights and sounds of India! 

In order to be honored at the 2023 Recognition of Excellence Ceremony being held this spring, Girl Scout Gold Award final reports must be turned in by February 6. Girl Scout Silver Award paperwork is due by February 28. Follow the link below to learn more. 

Applications are being accepted for two scholarships that are just for Girl Scouts!

Outstanding Graduating Girl Scout Scholarship: This council-sponsored scholarship is open to all currently registered GSofSI Girl Scouts who are graduating in 2023.

GSUSA Gold Award Girl Scout Scholarship: Girl Scouts of the USA will award a higher-education scholarship award to one Gold Award Girl Scout per council. Gold Award Girl Scouts are eligible to apply if they are in 12th grade or are high school graduates who earned the Gold Award between 4/1/22 and 9/30/22 and have their final report on file and approved in GoGold. Please note: Gold Award Girl Scouts who applied for this scholarship in 2021 or 2022 are not eligible to apply.
