2023 February Family Newsletter
Raspberry Rally Cookies Are Coming February 27!
The time is near! Raspberry Rally cookies are right around the corner! The direct shipped option for customers opens on Digital Cookie on February 27, and that also means Raspberry Rally cookies will be available to customers. Below are a couple of updates and reminders so that girls can take those entrepreneurial skills to the next level.
Digital Cookie will now remain open until March 10 for direct shipped orders and donations (originally scheduled for March 5). Community excitement for the Raspberry Rally has been overwhelming! These few extra days should give customers plenty of time to order this delicious new cookie - along with their traditional favorites – to be delivered right to their homes. While they’re ordering, encourage them to add a package or two for Hometown Heroes to share the love with our local heroes.
How can you help your girl be prepared for this portion of the Cookie Program? Before February 27, log into Digital Cookie to make sure her site is all set up and ready to go. Need help setting up her Digital Cookie site? Click the button below for a tutorial. Girls and their families should ensure that all the emails they want to send out are entered. Emails can be sent out beginning February 26 (although the direct shipped option, including Raspberry Rally, will not be available until the following day). If you’ve previously shared your girl’s site link on your social media pages for friends and family, this would be a great opportunity to reshare!
Now would be an ideal time to review our Online Marketing Guidelines with your Girl Scout. Girl safety is our top priority. Following these guidelines will not only help keep her safe, but it will also help her have a successful Digital Cookie business.
Each February 22, Girl Scouts and Girl Guides across 150 countries celebrate World Thinking Day. It’s a day of international friendship and a time to stand up for causes that could improve the lives of girls around the globe. While the holiday itself comes in February, the World Thinking Day Award can be earned at any time of year.
Girls Can Earn a New Patch and a Mini Crossbody Sling During the Rally Finale!
Cookie Season is such an exciting time of year! With the help of their supportive squads, Girl Scouts build confidence in their ability to go for their big goals. The rewards girls earn help symbolize the strength and persistence they dedicate to achieving their ambitions.
As we near the end of the season, it's time for the Rally Finale! Girls will now have until March 10 to earn the mini crossbody sling bag and custom patch! (Due to the availability of the custom Bluetooth speakers, that portion of the incentive will still end on March 5).
Black History Month (and every month!) is a time to acknowledge, celebrate, and commemorate the achievements of African Americans. But did you know that history is also happening here and now? From phenomenal Gold Award Girl Scouts making a lasting impact on their communities to bold Black women breaking records and shattering glass ceilings—Black history is happening all around us, and there are endless ways to celebrate and learn. Girl Scouts can start by downloading the free activity guide for the Black History Month Celebration "I'm a Girl Scout!" patch.
In the light of a campfire or the glow of a group hug, Girl Scout Camp is where girls want to be. This summer, all trails lead to camp!
This year, we have 8 Day Camps and 7 Resident Camp sessions. We even have Open House opportunities in March - both virtual and in-person - for families to choose which camp is the best fit!
Each year, every Girl Scout who renews her registration during the "Early Bird" phase in the spring gets a free patch designed by one of her peers. For the first time, girls can share their vote on the patch design! Each design has been created by a Girl Scout from Southern Illinois. Please help girls share their votes!
Join us for an adventure-filled road trip to earn the Southern Illinois Explorer badge! Participants will be picked up by bus from Fairview Heights, Mt. Vernon, or Marion.
Are you interested in exploring a pond, tromping through the woods, cooking over a fire, or learning to shoot an arrow? These are just a few of the many activities girls can choose as part of a day of outdoor fun!
Location: Waterloo, IL
Deadline: 4/10
