The holiday season is time to cherish the connections and values that make our lives meaningful. Whether it's spending time with family and friends, continuing treasured traditions, celebrating faith, or spreading goodwill in the community - we spend this time of year doing what matters most to us.
Here at Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois, we like to reflect upon our Mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Thanks to our Girl Scout families and friends, our Movement is going strong in Southern Illinois. In fact, our membership grew more than 25% last year compared to 2021. Even more Girl Scouts are going on new adventures, making friends, and giving back to their communities.
In the past year, Girl Scouts have explored the world, won awards for robotics, restocked local food pantries, and learned life-saving skills. They've enjoyed simple pleasures like planting flowers, giggling with their gal pals, and sleeping under the stars. In short - girls have made lasting memories and built skills that will help them make a difference in the ways they find meaningful.
To all of our families, friends, and supporters- we say thanks! You continue to show how much you value Girl Scouts and make it an important part of your lives. By doing so, you're investing in girls' futures and their ability to change our communities, our country, and our world.
