Did you know? All girls in K-12 can join Girl Scouts at any time! Here are 5 reasons why it's a great idea to become a Girl Scout right now.
Friendship Matters
Meaningful connections can boost girls’ self-confidence! Nearly 70% of girls ages 5-13 experience loneliness, according to a recent survey. Loneliness is linked to reduced mental and physical wellbeing, as well as a drop in self-confidence for girls. Girl Scouts celebrates the power of friendship. Girls are encouraged to express their unique selves, while exploring new activities in a supportive environment. Being a Girl Scout means having a squad to cheer you on while you take on new challenges.
More Fun is Still to Come
Adventure awaits in Girl Scouts! The calendar is still filled with fun opportunities. From ice skating to international travel – there are so many exciting activities to explore. Plus, we’re already planning our summer camp escapades – dreaming of long, sunny days in the outdoors will help make the winter brighter! Join today and start looking forward to more fun.
Help Us Make a Difference
Many girls want to do something special from the heart. Their passion could be for helping animals, protecting the planet, sharing generosity, or creating change in their community. Giving back is a big part of what it means to be a Girl Scout. Already this year, Girl Scouts across Southern Illinois have helped fill food pantries, visited residents at assisted living facilities, cleaned up local parks, and so much more! Girl Scouts can even earn awards for taking action – the Girl Scout Bronze Award, Girl Scout Silver Award, and Girl Scout Gold Award.
The Sweetest Season Starts Soon
January kicks off cookie season in Southern Illinois. The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the #1 girl-led entrepreneurial experience in the world. From start to finish, girls call the shots – they build a budget based on planned activities, set goals, and work together to make great things happen! While Girl Scouts raise funds for activities like camping and community service, they also build confidence to chase down their biggest dreams. We’d love for you to be part of this go-getting team!
Join Girl Scouts with a Friend & Get Patches
Through Jan. 6, when a Girl Scout invites a friend to join, they can both get a patch! Win-win!!
