On October 19, 2024, Girl Scouts of the USA and the National Board held the first-ever special session of Girl Scouts' National Council. Girl and adult delegates represented councils across the country to discuss and vote on proposals regarding national membership dues.
The National Council approved national membership dues of $45 for girls in Membership Year 2026 and $65 in Membership Year 2027. The membership fee for adults will be $30 starting in Membership Year 2026. There is no change to the national membership dues for the current (2025) membership year.
"Ensuring that Girl Scouts can be here for girls (now and in the future) requires financial resources. Girl Scouts has not raised membership dues in over 8 years," said Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois CEO Loretta Graham. "This was not a decision that was taken lightly, which is why more than 800 delegates representing Girl Scouts' membership came together to weigh options and vote to ensure that Girl Scouts thrive and that, most importantly, every girl has access to the Girl Scout experience so desperately needed today."
